Dopamine requests only the Gmail read-only scope. This lets Dopamine read messages and attachments but does not allow it to send, edit, or delete email. Dopamine does not request Google profile or identity scopes for this feature.

What we inspect and why

After you connect Google, you choose a Gmail date range before an import. Dopamine searches for likely purchase, ticket, travel, and restaurant-reservation confirmations. It reads minimal metadata first and reads message content or bounded PDF text only for likely candidates. The purpose is to create structured purchase, event, reservation, merchant, category, artist, and confidence records for your Taste Timeline and Taste Passport.

Storage and sharing

Complete message bodies and attachment contents are processed transiently and are not intentionally stored. OAuth credentials are encrypted. Structured derived records are stored until you delete them. They are private by default. A verified artist team can receive limited derived signals—such as purchase count, approximate spend band, product interests, or recency—only after you separately opt in for that named artist. Raw Google data, your Google account identity, order details, and exact prices are not shared with the artist.

Google-derived data is not used to create or select audiences for email, SMS, or in-app campaigns. It is not sold, used for ads or retargeting, transferred to data brokers, used for credit or lending decisions, or used to train general-purpose AI models.

Controls and deletion

Settings lets you pause Gmail synchronization, disconnect Google, delete all imported mailbox data, export your Dopamine data, or delete your account. Disconnecting attempts to revoke Dopamine’s Google token and always removes the local connection. Deleting imported data removes derived receipt and concert records and recomputes affected artist insights. Deleting your account also attempts Google token revocation before account deletion.

Dopamine’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
